Powering Global Infrastructure and Network Operations for a Fortune 500 Insurer
24×7 coverage, faster response, and a roadmap for predictive infrastructure management

Insurance
The Underwriter
As an industry, insurance is meant to account for the risks people can see — and the ones they can't anticipate. One Fortune 500 insurer was managing a global estate of more than 1,200 network devices and an ecosystem that included Cisco, Everpure, Juniper Networks, and other OEM technologies. The environment was growing constantly, as was the pressure on network support teams. Monitoring was fragmented. Too much work depended on manual triage.
A Shortfall Claim
The client needed an operating model that could support its sprawling network around the clock (and globe).
Limited Visibility. Legacy monitoring tools couldn’t provide the real-time insights that teams needed to identify emerging issues, or to understand what was happening across distributed sites.
Manual Response. Ticketing, escalation, and root-cause analysis relied heavily on people doing the tedious work of moving that information between systems. This was slowing down resolution and creating inconsistency from incident to incident.
Lifecycle Pressure. Aging devices and incomplete lifecycle planning made it hard to plan for refreshes, manage risk, and keep the network aligned with the business.
The client understood that insurance coverage is about providing peace of mind. The same had to be true of its technology. Customers needed reliable access; agents needed reliable systems; and internal teams needed the confidence to proactively address disruption. All of that took a managed support partner that could combine always-on coverage with the engineering judgment to act on it.
Rewriting the Policy
This engagement aligned with three areas of AHEAD India’s expertise:
- Platform & Workload Modernization: Establishing an operating foundation that could support evolving infrastructure and automated, analytics-driven network management.
- Secure & Resilient Architecture: Designing the operating model around the availability, stability, and security requirements of a global insurance organization.
- Operational Excellence: Bringing together 24×7 monitoring, incident response, escalation and knowledge management.
The work unfolded across three phases:
Advise
Since the environment was so large and made up of technologies from multiple OEMs, it was important to clarify how issues should be detected, routed, and escalated. AHEAD and the client sat down to design an operating model that covered the sheer number of devices, round-the-clock coverage, and consistent performance.
Why the Groundwork Mattered: The client defined expectations for how its operating model would see, prioritize, and resolve issues across its environment, so its teams didn't have to spend all their time chasing the next alert.
Build
AHEAD then deployed a hybrid operating model, run by India-based engineering teams and U.S. delivery architects. This paired the global delivery with the strategic oversight the client was looking for. 24x7 network support could now monitor all 1,200 devices, investigate events, and resolve incidents. Automation-led ticketing quickly moved issues from detection to action. AHEAD's OEM-agnostic approach meant teams could work effectively across the many existing technologies.
How It Came to Life: AHEAD met the client exactly where it was. Rather than change its environment, it designed and delivered a model tailored to its exact needs.
Run
AHEAD continues to offer support via monitoring, incident resolution and escalation management. A shared knowledge base has made triage faster. Root-cause analysis makes it possible to recognize patterns and use them to improve incident response.
How It Kept Delivering: The network became a living operating program, with the discipline to make tomorrow run even better.
A Better Backstop
The insurer now has more than just an additional set of eyes on its environment.
A Consistent Response. Automation-led ticketing, escalation workflows, and a shared knowledge base have led to consistent triage and resolution.
Better Operational Visibility. Real-time monitoring and root-cause analysis have helped teams identify issues faster and minimize downtime.
More Strategic Capacity. With AHEAD managing the day-to-day, internal teams can direct their attention to high-value initiatives and long-term infrastructure improvements instead.
What’s Next
The client is continuing to advance network device lifecycle automation and performance analytics. The next phase will be focused on continuing to reduce manual intervention, better forecasting for upgrades, and using AI-driven insights for infrastructure planning. Predictive operations are built from discipline. Monitoring, escalation, and knowledge have to be connected so the network is easier to understand and improve. For organizations managing critical infrastructure across vendors, regions, and time zones, AHEAD can help make the shift from simply reacting to being resilient and informed.
